Evaluation
I think my final images illustrate my brief perfectly. They
show I have used internet images combined with the portraits of people I have
taken with a digital camera they also showed the connections/Links between the
media and their audiences.
I think my strongest images were Cinema 3 and Television 1
both of these images took a lot of effort just to make them look right I used
colour corrections and cut around/trimmed people just to make the images
perfectly neat and effective also they both show the clear links between the
media and their audience.
My weakest images by far were Television 3 and Advert 2 even
though they link the media to the audience they are roughly cut out and they
are both quite poor roughly cut out images and if I was change any images it
would be those two.
I edited most of my images by cutting round the pictures I
took on the digital camera. The final image I chose to show I had cut out is
advert 3 this shows I haven’t cut round this person to eliminate the background
once that had been done I trimmed the person holding the magazine down to size
to fit him in the a4 landscape page.
I think overall my print quality wasn’t amazing it somewhat
but I red shade over my Images. My image resolution was alright some images
were out of focus and the Images resolution was a few pixels wrong but overall
the quality was good.
The feedback I have gathered from my questionnaires showed
me that the media advertisement was the most creative/Impressive media out of
all of the others. Also I gathered that people said that my photo manipulation
skills where Good/Average But most people critised my cinema images more than
all I had comments that said things like looks Fake/Unrealistic but the point
of the task in hand was to create images that showed the connection between the
media and their audiences and all in all I think I showed that quite well.
People and Their
Heroes
I think my final images for people and their heroes I made
suit my brief perfectly the brief told me to make six images and combine them
to make I final image which looks realistic. But I can honestly say that my
images looked very rushed and not much effort was put in so I don’t think I
illustrated the brief perfectly.
I took the photographs with the people posing or a stance
that matched the internet image of their celebrity/Hero for example In one
image I used a teacher standing up straight with her arm out so it looks like
she was leaning/Putting her arm round the female actress Meryl Streep
this makes the image look more realistic. If I didn’t take the picture
of the teacher posing the image would have looked bland and unrealistic.

MC- HAMMER &
CHELSEY COLLINGE WRAY
For this image I downloaded a picture of MC-Hammer and took
a picture of chelsey then I cut around the camera image of chelsey then dragged
it in to the project once that had been done I made chelsey transparent then
cut around the body of mc-hammer which then lets chelsey look like she has got
his arm around him.
Adam Perkins &
Kirk Hammet
For this image I first of all cut out the man out who was
between Kirk Hammet and Lars Ulrig then cut around Adam Perkins after this I
placed the Adam in between both the band members and shrunk him so he fitted
perfectly after that I made a background grey just to make the characters abit
boulder.
Miss Wayne &
Meryl Streep
For the last Image I cut around Miss Wayne and placed her on
the red carpet with Meryl Streep after that I cut around Meryl and put her back
in the exact spot she was originally that allowed me to then put Miss Wayne’s
arm on her shoulder. Also I added some contrast to Miss Wayne’s layer which
then made the lighting look real.
I feel that my final images were made too quickly and most
of them looked rushed if I got my head down straight away I would have been
able to make the images look a lot more advanced and better than they are now
so overall I didn’t like my images personally.
I think the Print, Image Resolution and lighting were all
quite good the lighting I used for these images made them look less messy than
they already were but the print quality and the resolution was perfect and
couldn’t have been any better.
From the feedback I gathered that people thought my
editing/manipulation skills were very Impressive/Good they also said my Image 5
was the worst one out of them all they said it was terrible, fake and many
other criticisms were made but I will be sure to work on images like this
better next time around but I was pleased that the image I thought was the best
was the one that everyone liked and that
was Image number 4 I put allot of work into this one image because I needed to
make up for the other images that I thought were not good at all.
Story Illustration
I think my final images for the Mr. Love day story were
perfect I couldn’t have made the image quality any better I also stuck to the
brief by re-sizing all of images and cropping them and numerous other photo
editing effects like greyscale...Etc. So I think my images illustrate the brief
perfectly.
I chose simple words and phrases to get ideas for my images
in the end I took pictures of a book shelf because there is a quote in the
story that talks about a library in the story I will give another example I
took a picture of the river Mersey to imitate the river Danube that Mr. Love
day talks about in the story.

To make this final image I cropped it down so it would fit
on the illustration page perfectly after that was done I Greyscale the image
and that was the finished image then it was dragged into quark express.
Book Shelf/Library
For this image I cropped it again so it was the right size
for the illustration page then greyscale the image and dragged into quark
express.
The print quality I have to say it wasn’t perfect there was
a blue and red tinge when the images printed out along with the story/content
and I have no idea why. They didn’t look the same as they were printed out to
on the computer. The Image resolution was quite awkward but that was my own
problem I took the images not knowing what they would look cropped and fitted.
The lighting for the Images was okay but could have been a bit better if I used
more lighting effects again in Photoshop.
One of my strengths in this task was taking all of my images
I though all of my images were quite creative and above average photo’s I can
say this by image quality and how my images relate perfectly with the story.
One of my weakness was editing I could have spent allot more time on them to
make the image lighting better so the scenery
would stand out more compared to the object of the picture.
Throughout this unit I think my skills with all types of
image manipulation programmes I now know how to create images that I have in my head this seems creative to people
I have learnt to use different effects on my images to make them look allot
better than they were originally so overall this unit I have learnt how to use
Photoshop and its amazing features that I used to edit my images and then make
all of my final images.
